Let us start by saying that we take no pleasure in hearing about couples being let down by other DJs. Their wedding is one of the highlights of their relationship and their lives and it makes us more than a bit miffed that our fellow professionals have not risen to the occasion. In the case you’re about to read courtesy of Newsweek https://apple.news/AFsiXtVErS6SqyUKXQUK-Gg
it sounds like the DJ company didn’t do enough due diligence and the DJ was way out of his comfort zone with the couple’s music choices. This and the other negative examples listed could have been avoided by doing more homework on your DJ:
Do they carry liability insurance? (We do!)
Are they willing to meet you in person, if local, or at least call/video conference to discuss your wedding? (We are!)
Do they have an online private client area with links to the couple’s wedding planning form, customizable timeline, song list builder w/ prioritization and song notes? And a ‘guest request list’ link, if desired? (We do via DJ Intelligence!)
Do they offer ongoing consultation via call/text, email & video conf? (We do!)
Is the DJ assigned experienced enough to work with your song list and follow the musical guidance you’ve discussed? (With over 75 years collective experience playing music from around the world, We Are!)
We hope you’ll consider us for your special day, but above all, we hope you find the wedding professionals that help you feel comfortable and (relatively) stress free. Shoot us a message or call/text 818.599.7175 to learn how we can help make your wedding, or that of someone you know, very special. 🙏😎🎧

"I am a lineman for the county And I drive the main road Searchin' in the sun for another overload I hear you singin' in the wire, I can hear you through the whine And the Wichita lineman is still on the line" Glen Campbell, songwriter, musician, actor, has passed away and the music world mourns the latest talent to shuffle off this mortal coil. RIP, lineman, RIP.

One reason we do a high number of weddings, aside from them paying better than most other events (just being honest), is that they're very happy, positive occasions that tend to bring out the best in people. Not always; a Best Man at a wedding we did 3 years ago had to be cut-off From the mic after mentioning the word "testicles" during his toast to the B&G, and he wasn't too happy about that...but the following story is evidence that weddings not only showcase the love between the two people being joined in union, but also the love between friends and family members. Grab a box of tissues and be prepared to cry tears of sadness & incredible joy!

Long time associate Weston Walls has moved up to the roll of partner to help boost DJs on a Dime's awareness through social media and network outreach programs in order to give us the best year we'll ever have in 2017.
Starting as an assistant to DJ Craig Henry in 2008, Weston tackled whatever came his way and proved to be an asset to morale and business in general. Over the years, Weston's desire to do and be more led to him learning how to DJ and MC from Craig and other DJs we're associated with through the DJ Roundtable of Southern California and his energy, motivation, fresh ideas and general enthusiasm will serve to earn DJs on a Dime more market share and bolster our already growing list of loyal clients. Congratulations to Weston and best of luck to him in his new position!

See you Friday night!
DJs on a Dime is always looking to share the latest, unique approaches to weddings and special events so when we read GQ's Indie Wedding Revolution feature in the June 2015 issue, we thought it would be perfect to pass along as we enter "Wedding Season". One thing we don't agree with though: DO GET a VIDEOGRAPHER! It's not about having "artistic" shots of specific events although you are going to want coverage of events like the Grand Entrance, the couple's 1st dance, etc. The reason you should hire a videographer is for the candid, spontaneous things that pop up like you and your sorority sisters singing your school song at the top of your lungs and the best wishes and interviews with your guests. Not to mention capturing special moments with older family members who's time with us might be limited. You're going to want to have your grand parents on video so you can show your possible inevitable children or just to have for yourself so you have their voice and their personality on video - which you can't get with just still photography. It's just something to consider before you finalize your budget. Disclosure: DJs on a Dime offers wedding and event videography and we know how important it can be for some people, but only you can decide if it's important to you. Other than that, there's some great ideas and suggestions listed here. Cheers! Enjoy!
